The Ariadne Thesaurus is a controlled vocabulary for describing literature in the field of women's and gender studies. It is maintained by Ariadne, the women’s and gender-specific information and documentation service at the Austrian National Library (ANL), and is used for the description of contributions in edited volumes and scholarly journals. Each concept is linked to a keyword search in the ANL catalogue QuickSearch (Special Collection Ariadne). The search includes both the preferred term and its associated synonyms. History note
The Ariadne Thesaurus builds on thesaurA, the Austrian feminist thesaurus published in 1996. It has since been locally developed and is currently undergoing a comprehensive content revision.
